After Mirugam, Karthik Jai Movies are ready with their next venture  titled Nellu, a tale of a youth born and brought up in the agrarian belt of Thanjavur. Starring Sathya and debutante Bhagyanjali in the lead, the movie has Stalin Karthikeyan, O A K Sundar, Vasu Vikram among others in the cast.
.
Directed by M Shivasankar, the highlight of the movie is that it is based on an incident that shook the whole State in 1968. S S Kumaran has scored the music while editing is by Peter Babiya.

On the movie, the director says, ‘a period film based on a real-life incident is no easy task to make. When I conceived the storyline, I decided it should not be one among the run-of-the-mill stuff. Thanks to the encouragement of my producers, I was able to complete the movie what I had in my mind’.

Says producer Senthil Kumar, ‘quite like Mirugam, Nellu too has a strong message for the masses. Agrarian woes have been highlighted well. Since it is a period film, we have ensured that all is reflected well on screen.’

He heaped laurels on the whole unit for shooting the film in difficult conditions in Gobichettipalayam and Kumbakonam. We are confident that audience will encouragh this attempt and make it a big success’.
