Sir, Atrocious, the other name is Sachin’s innings at Gwalior against the SA in the second ODI. |
| . |
Remarkably, excellent innings, played with fullest authority, perfection to the core and with ease. All bad deliveries touched the boundary ropes. Though, Sachin had produced many great innings, this one, not only for the World’s highest individual score in a ODI, but also for it’s absolute techniques, deserve total appreciation. Its true that this is an atrocious innings giving all the bowler the least respect for their bowling. M V Mukundhan, Nanganallur Sachin on song Sir The mere mention of the name Sachin conjures up visions of the magic willow for more than two decades with which he entertained the cricketing world by his magic touch, tumbling records after records in the cricketing history . And the manner in which he went after the bowling of Proteas in the second one day match, scoring a double hundred in the process exemplifies the commitment unexemplary; scoring, unstoppably plenty, all with a modesty becoming of such people as achieved greatness with out taint of arrogance.
