‘Kanchipuram becoming knowledge capital of TN’

Kanchipuram is developing into the knowledge capital of Tamilnadu,  Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin has said.
Stating this while inaugurating a platinum-rated green campus of Great Lakes Institute of Management near Mamallapuram near Chennai yesterday, Stalin said that  globalisation has made students take up  business management as the opportunities available were numerous.
.
He said that in 2008 - 09, nearly 13,000 students had enlisted themselves in private colleges and 1,800 in government and government- aided colleges. And 178 engineering colleges had included management courses in their curriculum, he added.

Founder-Dean of the institute Bala V Balachandran also spoke. The function was attended also by State Labour Minister T M Anbarasan, Chief Secretary K S Sripathy and Collector of Kanchipuram district Santhosh K Mishra.
