Chennai: On the day of the AIADMK executive committee meeting, a controversial opinion poll in favour of party coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam was today released creating flutter in party circles.
The ‘pre poll survey’ conducted by Mann Foundation and NGOs said that 74.7 per cent cadres think that OPS is the most faithful to former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and AIADMK. Only 25.3 per cent had voted for EPS.
The survey also claimed that 28.7 per cent have said that Panneerselvam should be the Chief Minister, while 27.9 per cent had voted for Palaniswami and 26.6 per cent had voted for DMK president M K Stalin.
The survey also said that 50.2 per cent of respondents are in favour of the re-establishment of the AIADMK government in Tamilnadu.
The poll results also stated that 66.2 per cent people think that former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s absence is a major weakness of the DMK.
