The attitude of AIADMK MP S Ve Shekher in the Tamilnadu Assembly is absolutely condemnable.  When he is still in the AIADMK, he cannot act against the party whip’s instructions.

If he does not like to act accordingly to the party’s instructions, he is at liberty to quit the party. He cannot expect the party to expel him.

Moreover, the DMK and the AIADMK are lifetime enemies and will never come close under political culture. In 1973, then ruling DMK hurled chappals on MGR. In 1989, the then ruling DMK attacked Jayalalithaa.

Both incidents occured within the Assembly.  Hence, any member of both DMK and AIADMK cannot show each other any sort of political culture. As such, it is better for Shekher to quit AIADMK and seek fresh elections from Mylapore Assembly constituency, instead of back-stabbing the party he belongs to.

Razzaq made the difference

Sir

All-rounder Abdul Razzaq’s return to the national side has been instrumental in Pakistan’s stupendous run in the ongoing ICC World Twenty20 in England. He had severed his ties with the rebel Indian Cricket League to return to the mainstream cricket.

Razzaq was the catalyst that Pakistan needed to get their challenge on the road. He is a great player, who can contribute both with bat and ball. A skilled fielder, he is certainly a match-winner in the team
