Hoping for a change

Actor Prashanth's career has touched rock bottom. Devoid of any hits in recent times, he is now hoping for change of fortunes as a couple of his movies (Adaikalam and Thagapansamy) are getting ready for release later this month. Adaikalam, lying in the cans for a long time, is directed by newcomer Bhuvanaraja. It stars Prashanth, his father Thiyagarajan, Saranya and Uma.

Thagappansamy has Prashanth and Pooja in the lead roles. 'Unfortunately both the films were delayed due to financial constraints. Now all problems have been sorted out and we are ready with the release', says Prashanth.

According to the actor, both the films are different from each other. The former revolves around the bond between a responsible father and his estranged wife, son and daughter, while the latter carries a strong message to society'.

Prashanth does not have a pair in Adaikalam. 'It is a family drama involving parents and their two children where the conventional heroine (a apir for the heroine) doesn't have any role to play. The story is very absorbing', says director Bhuvanaraja.

Check out what Prashanth says on Thagappansamy: 'It has everything in it to appeal to all sections of the masses. It would be a treat for action-lovers'.

The movie has Pooja and Namitha giving company to him. Also in the cast are Karunas and Kanja Karuppu.
