        After a gap of one year with Sillunu Oru Kadhal being his last, actor Surya is busy wrapping up the shoot for his Vel.

        The movie features Surya in a dual role and acting opposite him is Asin, who plays a radio jockey. A major portion of the movie was shot in a village near Tirunelveli.

        Speaking on the movie, Surya says, 'we have highlighted the need for the joint family system, that is on the decline today. Our culture and values are lost due to the emergence of nuclear families.'

        Vel will hit the screens for Diwali. Meanwhile, the shooting for Surya's Varanam Ayiram, directed by Goutham Menon, will resume after the actor completed Vel.
