AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Inspired by a real story

Uyir turned out to be a path-breaking film for director Samy. The movie had its share of controversies but in the end, director Samy and actress Sangeetha walked away with accolades.

Now Samy is into completing his Mirugam, inspired by a real story of a man and his brutal ways in South Tamilnadu nearly four decades ago.

According to Samy, 'the story is inspired by a uncouth man who stabbed to death his pregnant wife. The film has its share of action, romance and humour.'

On the star- cast, he says, ' Adhi, son of Telugu director Ravirajabini Shetty, was just the face I was looking out for the lead character. Padmapriya plays the female lead, supported by Banuchander, Kanja Karuppu and Sona.'

Sabesh and Murali are the music composers for the movie produced by Karthik Jai. Cinematography is by Ramnath Shetty.

Padmapriya is thrilled to play the all-important role. ' It is a rare to come across heroine-dominated roles in an industry driven by men. Mirugam - though the title may ring alarm bells, it has enough share of emotion and sentiment. Plans are on to release the movie early September.
