For the first time, actor-director Cheran will play a lead role with shades of grey in the film titled Pirivom Sandhippom.
It is directed by Karu Pazhanippan featuring Cheran and Sneha in the lead roles.
According to Karu Pazhaniappan, 'the movie revolves around Cheran, who plays a TNEB engineer. He gets married to the girl of his parent's choice, Sneha. But after their marriage, the big family splits and Cheran happens to be the catalyst for the separation. It is up to him to set things right'.
Nuclear families have become the order of the day. But Pirivom Sandhippom throws light light on the family values and traditions and the need to stay together today, Pazhaniappan says and adds, 'most of Cheran's films have been emotional wrenchers. For a change in Pirivom Sandhippom Cheran never cries and one could see a new dimension to his character.
Produced by Gnanam Films, the movie has musical score by Vidyasagar.
'It is very rare to come across heroine-centric film in Kollywood these days. But all credit to Pazhaniappan for conceiving a different theme in the movie. I play a conservative girl, who strive to uphold the family traditions,' says Sneha.
The director has brought together a huge cast which includes Murugesh, S N Lakshmi, Devadarshini, Shanmuga Rajeswaran, Balasingh, Mouli, Santhana Bharathy among others. Shooting is on at Karaikudi and Pirivom Sandhippom is due to hit the screens this September.
