        Son of actor-turned-politician S Ve Shekher, Ashwin is making his debut on silver screen with Vegam.

        A student of DG Vaishnav College (Visual Communication), Ashwin's debut venture is directed by K R Udhayashankar.

        Ashwin, who had performed with Magic Lanterns, a theatre group of Koothu-p-Pattarai, is keen to establish himself as an action hero. 'It is my desire make a career out of acting. I thank my father, who encouraged and motivated me', says Ashwin. The movie brings together Prabhu and Kushboo after ages. Shekher plays a cameo. Sriman, Venu Aravindh, Lollu Sabha Jeeva among others are in the cast.

        Tollywood actress Archana plays the heroine. A major portion of the movie was shot in Malaysia and Puducherry. Musical score is by Rajesh Vaidya to the lyrics of director Perarasu, Gangai Amaran and Snehan. 'Quite appropriate to the title, Vegam will be a racy entertainer. Plans are on to release the movie in August.'

        The other credits are K S Selvaraj (cinemtography), Suresh Urs (art) and Action Prakash (stunts).
