Chennai: Thanks to Kuvikam, a literary organisation functioning at Thanikachalam Road, in the city, for this Navarathri, an altogether different kolu in the form of books in various topics, from poetry to compositions was displayed.
Speaking to this paper, Kirubanandan, one of the organisers said, “We showcased various books in English and Tamil written by various authors at the exhibit. Translated books from various Indian languages will also be on show for public reading.”
He also said, “There was a book exchange scheme we offered at our premises. Those who wanted to read a particular book in the kolu can take it away, but they should replace it with a book of their own.”
“We started this exercise to encourage and motivate readers to go through various publications,” he added.
