Civic body responds to residents’ grievances


Following an article published in News Today, about non-functioning street lights in IOB Colony, Municipality officials have taken steps and have replaced many of these.

A press release from IOB Colony Residents’ Welfare Association, thanked the newspaper for its support and informed that six street lights are yet to be replaced.

“The officials are also taking steps to redress other issues pertaining to the locality,” the release added. It may be noted that a letter to the Commissioner, explaining about the various problems pertaining to the locality such as garbage clearing, stray dog menace, repair and replacement for street lights and filling up of pits with debris, was presented during the executive committee meeting of the association held recently.

The letter stated that the street lights in the lamp posts numbered 11,16,18,21,23,25,32,33,35,36,43,49,52,54 and 61 are not burning and should be immediately replaced.
