Vijay Sethupathi-Trisha’s romantic film, 96, turned out to be one of the biggest hits in 2018 and both the actors garnered rave response for their performances. The film is currently being remade in Telugu featuring Sharwanand and Samantha in the lead roles.

Suriya starrer Soorarai Pottru’s teaser, which was released yesterday, has gone viral in social media. The film is based on Air Deccan’s founder G R Gopinath. Suriya essays the character by the name of Nedumaran Rajangam.

 The Centre today moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of petitions challenging constitutional validity of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) pending before different high courts to top court.

Smoke from bushfires raging across Australia reached Brazil, an arm of the National Institute for Space Research said on Twitter. Referring to satellite images, the agency’s Department of Remote Sensing said the smoke had arrived in Brazil’s southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul.

A stampede broke out Tuesday at a funeral for a top Iranian general slain in a US airstrike, and at least 56 people were killed and more than 200 were injured as thousands thronged the procession, Iranian news reports said.

The US has increased its force “protection postures” in the Middle East in view of Iran’s aggressive stance, Defense Secretary Mark Esper said, amid tensions over top Iranian general Qasem Soleimani’s killing last week.
