The Crime Branch CID (CB-CID) police arrested five suspended police personnel of Sathankulam police station, including the Inspector and two Sub-Inspectors (SI) in connection with the custodial deaths of a father-son duo after
slapping murder charges against them.
Judges of the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court today reached out to Sathankulam Head Constable Revathy, who has come forward to speak against her colleagues in the custodial torture case, over phone.
After Head Constable Revathy came forward to reveal what happened on that fateful night when Sathankulam trader Jayaraj and his son Benix were ‘brutally assaulted’ in police station, two more police personnel too have come forward to turn approver in the sensational case.
The Tamilnadu police force, which came under severe criticism for the deaths of Sathankulam trader Jayaraj and his son Benix, was in for some relief today, after its elite investigation wing CB-CID was appreciated by the court for its probe in the case.
