NEET PG 2023: Qualifying percentile conspiracy exposed, alleges Udhayanidhi Stalin

In a recent revelation that has sent shockwaves through the medical education community, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the youth wing leader of the DMK and a prominent Minister, has alleged a conspiracy in the entrance test for post-graduate medical courses, NEET PG 2023. The Centre’s decision to reduce the qualifying percentile for eligibility to zero has raised questions about the true purpose of this national test. Udhayanidhi Stalin’s accusation stems from the dramatic lowering of the qualifying percentile to zero, effectively allowing all candidates to be eligible for counselling. “The question among students and parents is about the very need for the test when the Union government says that post-graduate courses in medicine could be pursued just by appearing in NEET, after harping on the so-called eligibility,” Udhayanidhi Stalin pointed out. This sudden change in the eligibility criteria raises doubts about the original purpose and intent of NEET PG. Moreover, Udhayanidhi Stalin has long held the position that NEET serves as an arrangement to bolster coaching centers and private medical colleges, a theory that many have subscribed to over the years. This development, where the qualifying percentile has been reduced to zero, has given credence to his party’s stance. As this controversy continues to unfold, it is imperative for stakeholders, including students, parents, and the medical community, to engage in a constructive dialogue about the future of medical education in India.
