Govt launches probe into actor Vishal’s bribery allegations against CBFC

In a startling development, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has initiated a thorough investigation into allegations made by actor Vishal against the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC). Vishal, known for his prominent role in the film industry, claimed that he paid a sum of Rs 6.5 lakh to a mediator to secure certification for his latest film, “Mark Antony.” These allegations have sent shockwaves through the Indian film industry and raised concerns about corruption within the CBFC. In a series of tweets and official statements, the I&B Ministry conveyed its commitment to combating corruption. The Ministry emphasized its “zero tolerance for corruption” and assured that the strictest actions would be taken against anyone found guilty of wrongdoing. The government has taken swift action in response to these allegations. A senior officer has been appointed to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the matter. This officer has been dispatched to Mumbai, where the CBFC is headquartered, to begin the investigation immediately. The allegations made by Vishal shed light on a critical issue within the film certification process. The CBFC plays a pivotal role in determining the suitability of films for public viewing, and any corruption within this institution raises concerns about the integrity of the certification process.
