Low pressure area forms over Bay of Bengal, TN to get rains till Oct 5

A low-pressure area over the East-central Bay of Bengal is moving northwestwards with the possibility of gradual intensification, that will result in rains in Tamil Nadu for the coming days till October 5, according to Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre. Light to moderate rains with thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur at isolated places across Tamil Nadu on Friday and Saturday. Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places over hilly areas of Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Theni, and Dindigul districts, while light to moderate rainfall is predicted till October 5, according to the regional meteorological department.
