Chennai’s property tax collection records impressive growth in FY 2023-24

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has recently announced a remarkable surge in property tax collection for the first half of the current fiscal year, setting new records and showcasing the city’s commitment to revenue mobilisation. From April to September 2023, the GCC successfully collected an impressive Rs 769.01 crore in property tax, marking a substantial increase compared to the previous financial year. This zone’s substantial contribution underscores its economic significance within the city. Royapuram zone followed closely behind, adding Rs 97.41 crore to the city’s tax revenue.
