AIADMK enacting a drama, says Stalin

In a fiery speech at a gathering of booth committee members from eight northern districts in Tiruvannamalai, DMK President and Chief Minister MK Stalin launched a blistering tirade against AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami. The focus of Stalin’s criticism revolved around the alleged ties between AIADMK and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Stalin wasted no time in questioning Palaniswami’s commitment to the welfare of minorities, insinuating that the AIADMK’s claims of severing ties with the BJP were nothing more than a “drama” marked by cunningness. He suggested that the AIADMK’s stand on leaving the alliance with the BJP was a smokescreen, as they refrained from openly criticizing the saffron party, raising doubts about the sincerity of their separation.
The DMK leader contended that Palaniswami’s recent declaration of leading a separate coalition, while not openly criticizing the BJP, was a move that went against the interests of the ruling party at the Centre. Stalin described this as a “cunning drama” orchestrated behind the scenes, implying that it would be exposed as the parliamentary election approached.
Furthermore, Stalin expressed his belief that the AIADMK would meet defeat in the 2024 general elections, reinforcing his assertion that the party’s separation from the BJP was a political maneuver rather than a genuine dissolution of their alliance.
