MMK ready to ally with DMK

In a strategic move, the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK) has announced its aspirations to actively participate in the upcoming 2024 Parliamentary elections, aligning itself under the leadership of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). This marks a departure from the party’s approach in the 2019 polls when it chose to extend support to the DMK without fielding any candidates. Party President and MLA M.H. Jawahirullah conveyed this decision during a statement made in Coimbatore on Tuesday. The MMK’s shift in strategy indicates a strengthened alliance with the DMK, a key player in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape. This move could potentially enhance the DMK-led coalition’s prospects by broadening its base and garnering support from diverse segments of the electorate.
