DMK joined INDIA Bloc to loot nation, says EPS

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami launched a scathing attack on the DMK, accusing the party of aligning with the INDIA bloc solely to plunder the state and nation for personal gain. Addressing a public gathering in Karamadai near Coimbatore, Palaniswami criticized the coalition’s inability to project a Prime Ministerial candidate due to internal contradictions within the alliance.
Palaniswami highlighted the lack of unity among the INDIA bloc parties, alleging that their alliance was primarily aimed at securing minority votes rather than addressing the interests of the people. He pointed out discrepancies within the coalition, citing examples such as the AAP-Congress rivalry in Punjab and the Congress-Communist rivalry in Kerala, to question their ability to choose a Prime Ministerial candidate.
Asserting the AIADMK’s commitment to protecting the rights of Tamil Nadu residents, Palaniswami claimed that his party could have continued its alliance with the BJP if power grab was their primary objective. However, he emphasized that the AIADMK’s priority lies in serving the people of Tamil Nadu, while accusing the INDIA bloc parties of seeking to exploit power for personal enrichment and covering up corruption.
Palaniswami also took a veiled swipe at AIADMK’s expelled leader O Panneerselvam, suggesting that he was targeted by Stalin’s plans to undermine the party. He urged the electorate to reject the dynastic politics of the DMK and warned of dire consequences if they failed to seize the opportunity for political change.
Criticizing the DMK government’s financial policies, Palaniswami denounced the borrowing of funds to implement welfare schemes, cautioning that such actions would burden the people. He attributed the implementation of certain schemes to the AIADMK’s pressure on the government, insinuating that the DMK’s governance was marred by corruption and inefficiency.
Referring to the infamous 2G spectrum scam, Palaniswami accused DMK MP A Raja of corruption and expressed confidence in the judiciary’s ability to deliver justice. He concluded by expressing optimism about the AIADMK’s electoral prospects and predicting the downfall of the DMK in the upcoming elections.
