Partial cancellation of EMU trains between Chennai Beach and Chengalpattu till June 4


The Southern Railway announced on Thursday that several Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) trains operating between Chennai Beach and Chengalpattu will be partially cancelled from May 31 to June 4 due to ongoing engineering works in the Chennai Beach to Villupuram section.
According to the statement, the engineering works will be conducted daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., necessitating the partial cancellation of several EMU services.
The affected trains include:
Chennai Beach – Chengalpattu EMU local trains departing from Chennai Beach at 9:30 a.m., 10:56 a.m., 11:40 a.m., and 12:40 p.m. These services will be partially cancelled between Singaperumal Koil and Chengalpattu from May 31 to June 4.
Chengalpattu – Chennai Beach EMU local trains departing from Chengalpattu at 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 1:45 p.m., and 3:05 p.m. These services will be partially cancelled between Chengalpattu and Singaperumal Koil from May 31 to June 4.
The Southern Railway has advised passengers to take note of these cancellations and plan their journeys accordingly. The engineering works are part of ongoing efforts to improve and maintain the railway infrastructure, ensuring safer and more efficient travel in the future.
