2,005 special buses to be operated for Bakrid travel


To accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming weekend and Bakrid holiday, the State Transport Corporation has announced the operation of 2,005 special buses from Friday to Monday, in addition to its regular daily services.

Schedule and Routes
According to an official release, the transport corporations will deploy these special buses as follows:

Friday: 545 special buses
Saturday: 585 special buses
Sunday: 140 special buses
These buses will depart from the Kilambakkam terminus, covering key destinations such as Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, and Salem.

Additionally, from Koyambedu, the corporation will operate 15 special buses on both Friday and Saturday to Tiruvannamalai.

For the return journey to Chennai, 705 buses will be operated on Monday to facilitate the safe and convenient travel of passengers back to the city from various parts of the state.

The release highlighted the significant number of passengers who have already booked their seats:

Friday: 10,894 passengers
Saturday: 5,957 passengers
Monday: 5,926 passengers
With the anticipation of more bookings as the travel dates approach, passengers are encouraged to utilize the online ticket booking facilities to plan their trips efficiently and secure their seats in advance.
