DMK’s victory certain in 2026 polls: Minister KN Nehru

Tiruchy, Feb 27: Tamil Nadu Minister KN Nehru on Wednesday dismissed concerns over political strategist Prashant Kishor’s association with actor-turned-politician Vijay, asserting that the DMK’s victory in any election is inevitable. He made these remarks at the executive committee meeting of the Tiruchy Centre and North District DMK, where election strategies were discussed.
Addressing party functionaries, Nehru said, “Prashant Kishor was rejected by the people of his home state in the recent elections, where all his candidates lost their deposits. Such a person cannot formulate an effective strategy anymore. There is no need for our cadre to be concerned about his ties with actor Vijay.”
The meeting also passed resolutions to grandly celebrate the 72nd birthday of Chief Minister MK Stalin across the district. Welfare assistance will be distributed, and food will be provided to the underprivileged as part of the celebrations.
Additionally, the meeting condemned the Union Government for allegedly pressuring Tamil Nadu to accept a three-language policy in exchange for the release of pending funds.
Nehru reaffirmed that DMK’s electoral success is assured, emphasizing the strongholds of the party. He stated that Chennai remains the DMK’s fortress, while the Delta districts, including Tiruchy, have always favored the party. He credited Minister V Senthil Balaji for strengthening the party’s grip in Karur and Coimbatore.
“With all these favorable factors and the dedicated efforts of our cadre, the DMK’s victory in the upcoming assembly elections is certain,” Nehru asserted.
