People stop CM’s car to submit memo

Coimbatore: A group of people stopped the car of Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisami and submitted a memorandum seeking implementation of long pending Avinashi Athikadavu Ground water project.

Palanisamy was going to Ooty in Nilgiris district via road from the Chennai to inaugurate the annual flower show. As he reached Annur, some people stood on the road and stopped the his car and submitted the memorandum, as the project was conceptualised some 50 years ago, police sources said.

He accepted the memorandum. Later Palanisamy told mediapersons at nearby Mettupalayam that the project will be taken up very soon.
