Chennai: Security has been tightened at Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) leader T T V Dhinakaran’s residence at Besant Nagar.
The arrangement comes after party members of AMMK filed a petition with the Commissioner of Police A K Viswanathan on Tuesday.
In the petition, they requested armed security personnel to be stationed outside their leader’s house.
On Sunday, ‘Bullet’ Parimalam, who was recently removed from AMMK, and his driver tried to hurl a petrol bomb at Dhinakaran’s residence. However, the mission failed and the bomb exploded near Parimalam’s car, where five of them, including Parimalam, were injured.
Parimalam had alleged that he had spent Rs 80 lakh for the party, but that Dhinakaran had sacked him. The accused was later arrested.
