Young filmmaker Karthick Naren, who shot to fame with his critically-acclaimed ‘Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru’, is back with a new mystery thriller ‘Naragasooran’, set to be released at the end of this month.
The film starring Arvind Swamy, Shriya Saran, Indrajith, Aathmika and Sundeep was shot in 41 days at Ooty.
At the trailer launch of the movie in the city, Arvind Swamy said, “I don’t want to talk about the movie. Let that be a suspense.’
Heaping laurels on the young filmmaker, Arvind Swamy, said, “Karthick was extremely dedicated and he gave all the tasks to the crew with clarity and perfection. He is a gift to cinema.”
Karthick thanked the cast and crew for their co-operation. “They drove towards finishing the project and we did it in 41 days. It was hard to shoot in the cold. Many sequences in the film have rainy scenes. But the casts were very cooperative.”
He also lauded producer Badri Kasturi and Arvind Swamy. “It was a great learning experience for me. I thank Badri sir, without him it would be impossible to complete this movie. I had my trust in him. I am planning to do my next film under his banner.’
He added, “Aravind sir also said that I should not make the movie for him but for myself and that was extremely motivating.”
Sundeep Kishan said, “I loved Karthick’s work in D16. I credit Karthick and his direction team for their hard work.”
He added, “It was lovely to work with Arvind. I also had a nice friendship with Indrajith. I thank Badri and Manikandan sir (the executive producer) who stood like rocks to support the film.”
Indrajith, who plays supporting role, said, ‘This is a character-driven film. I enjoyed being a part of it. I appreciate Karthick’s enthusiasm. I thank him for this opportunity.”
Aathmika said, ‘It was great to work here. I look forward to watching it in theatres.’
The trailer of ‘Naragasooran’ was launched yesterday on YouTube and has already surpassed seven lakh views.
