Chennai: Owing to the presence of industries in Ambattur in the city, the power consumption is usually higher in these parts.
To meet the electricity needs, the power is being supplied through heavy duty electricity cables.
“Few months ago, the cables were shifted to a pole installed on the main road. Though the action is welcome, the monsoon is already here and it will cause harm if the pole is not repaired as the locality is completely a residential area,” said Usha Rani, a resident of Chozhapuram.
When the residents tried to reach out to the electricity department, they advised them to shell out money and get it fixed instead of taking action, it is said.
