Chennai: An unidentified group went on a looting spree in an autorickshaw near Tirumangalam here in the early hours of today.

Police said the gang intercepted a tea seller Murugan (35) and robbed off Rs 3,000 from him at knife point near Koyambedu bridge.

“Murugan alerted a passerby on a motorcycle to note down the gang’s vehicle number,” the police added.

The group, anticipating trouble, targetted the second man, later identified as Kishore, and looted his cash and two-wheeler. Both the victims lodged a complaint at the Tirumangalam police station.

In another incident, a duo on a motorcycle robbed off a smartphone from Esaki Mani (35), a resident of Rayala Nagar, at Ramapuram here last night. A case has been registered with Rayala Nagar police station and further investigation is on.

While we do understand some of the reasons behind this argument but we are afraid we do not share the same line of reasoning.
