Chennai: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, is expected to call on ailing DMK president M Karunandihi in hospital today.
For the 10th day today, Karunanidhi is undergoing treatment at Kauvery Hospital in Alwarpet where he was rushed to after his blood pressure dropped while being treated at his Gopalapuram residence.
According to hospital sources, he has been responding well and may be discharged soon.
Yesterday, President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, looked up Karunanidhi in the hospital and enquired after his health to his son and DMK working president, M K Stalin, and his daughter and MP, Kanimozhi.
A stream of visitors, cutting across party lines, including Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, have been visiting the hospital to enquire about Karunanidhi’s health.
