Chennai: Taking a new stand about his re-entry in to DMK, M K Alagiri today said if taken back in to the party, he is ready to accept his younger brother M K Stalin as the president.
Addressing mediapersons today at Madurai, Alagiri said the party’s general body which comprises of 1,500 people alone is not DMK.
“Close to five lakh people will take part in the silent march to former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s samadhi in the city on 5 September,” he said.
Shortly after the demise of Karunanidhi, Alagiri had said that he will prove his strength in the coming days.
Following this it was said that he held several meetings with his supporters and party cadres who were not happy with Stalin’s leadership.
“No one is backing me and all true followers of Karunanidhi are with me. I will follow my father’s footsteps. He said a few things to me during his final days which I cannot tell now,” he had said.
