‘Thodraa’ speaks about honour killings

Chennai: Madhuraj, a former associate of veteran filmmaker Bhagiyaraj, makes his directorial debut with with Thodraa.

The movie stars Prithvi (Pandiarajan’s son) in the lead. Popular Malayalam actress Veena is the heroine.

M S Kumar making his debut as a villain. It also has director Venkatesh, Gajaraj and Baby Apoorva playing crucial characters.

Speaking about the film, Madhuraj says that it is a film that deals with the subject of honour killing.

Slated for release on 7 September, the film has been given a ‘U’ certificate by the Censor Board. They even appreciated the content, he said.

As it is, youngsters have to face a lot of problems if they are in love. So, when a couple elopes, their problems increases exponentially.

Worse, if they get into wrong hands! I have taken one such case and have spoken about the issues, he adds.

On his part, Prithvi said, “The movie is intense and emotional. All credots top my director for bringng the best out of his artistes. He knows what he was doing and kept the entire team in good spirits.”

The movie is bankrolled by Jaichandra Saravanakumar for Apoorva Creations.
