LPG cylinder to cost Rs 2.89 more from today

Chennai: The hike in LPG cylinder rate comes into force from today, says Indian Oil Corporation.

According to reports, there will be Rs  2.89 increase in the price of subsidised cooking gas.

Owing to the hike, a non-subsidised cylinder will cost Rs 59 more, it is said.

This will lead to the subsidy amount being deposited in banks going up to Rs 370.60 from the Rs 320.49 last month.

The LPG price hike is being blamed on the rise of price of crude oil in the world market and fall in rupee value that have already led to the price of petroleum products going through the roof.
