Malay national dies in Chennai airport due to jaundice

Chennai: A 54-year-old Malaysian national, who came to the city for treatment of jaundice, collapsed and died, minutes before boarding a flight to Kuala Lumpur at the Anna International airport here early today.

Sources said the Malaysian national, Noor Bin Basa, who was working as a marine engineer, came to the airport to board of flight to Kuala Lumpur.

After collecting the boarding pass and completing the security checks, he was waiting to board a flight, when he suddenly collapsed and fell.

Doctors at the airport checked his health condition and declared him dead. His body was taken to Chrompet Government Hospital.

He was in the city for treatment of jaundice. Since his health condition improved to some extent, he chose to return to Malaysia, when the tragedy occurred.
