Stalin devises strategy for Lok Sabha polls

Chennai: DMK’s high-level planning committee was convened today during which the strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections were discussed.

The meeting was headed by party president M K Stalin in which 26 members including DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan, treasurer M Durai Murugan, principal secretary, deputy general secretaries and organising secretaries took part.

A party source said the current status of each constituency, the ground work needed to done by the party cadres and the possibility of alliances were also discussed during the meeting. It is said plans for the unveiling of DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi’s statue on 15 November (100th day after his demise) was also discussed.

Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are expected to attend the opening ceremony of Karunanidhi’s statue.
