Chennai: Following the anonymous sexual harassment complaints against lyricist Vairamuthu, brought to light by singer Chinmayi, the daughter-in-law of singer Malaysia Vasudevan, Hemamalini, has also slammed the lyricist for his behaviour.
In her Facebook page, she wrote against him and came in for live chat to talk about him.
She said, “I cannot understand why Kollywood is ignoring Chinmayi’s allegations. Those people who are raising their voice against Chinmayi on why she was silent about this issue all these years, why can’t you raise your voice against Vairamuthu? Why are you questioning the victim instead of the one who committed the crime? This shows how partial the cinema world is.”
She further said 10 years back, when she was working in a private television channel, Vairamuthu is alleged to have sexually harassed a junior anchor. “I have even spoken about the issues on various stages 10 years back. Now, I back Chinmayi and her guts to raise her voice against the so-called ‘biggies.'”
The lyricist has already said he was ready to face any legal cases with the help of his experienced lawyers. In a recently released video, he said, “Those who complain against me, let us meet in court. I have enough evidence to prove myself and a number of experienced lawyers to back me.”
