Chennai: Parents should always keep an eye on their children and see what they surf on the net, said Little Oxford Matriculation Higher Secondary School principal K Radha.
Participating at the 52nd annual day celebration of Jawahar Vidyalaya at Ashok Nagar on Thursday, she said children can be easily diverted from addictive online games by parents.
Radha requested parents to give healthy food to children. ‘Choose Dosa over Pizza’, she said to children.
The annual report was presented by the students and the chief guest handed over prizes to students, who emerged toppers in academics.
It was followed by cultural programme with an invocation dance – ‘Dhanusri Thillana’ devoted to Lord Ganesha.
This was followed by a continental dance, a Tamil drama depicting the five natural elements presented in a thought provoking manner followed by Oyilattam.
A dance honouring our armed forces was presented in a spectacular way by the boys.
The programme came to a close with an orchestra presentation.
Jawahar Vidyalaya principal S Chitra, director of academics, Elizabeth Thomas, director – general administration, Alice Jeevan, principal of Jawahar Higher Secondary School, J Shyamala and heads of various units were present on the occasion.
