IRIS Glam aims for Guiness, plans to ramp 500 models in one shot

CEO Latha Krishna

Chennai: “Beauty is not about the colour or the physique. Rather, it is the confidence and the thrust to become a model and with that, anybody can walk on a ramp,” said IRIS Glam, CEO Latha Krishna at an event in the city on Monday.

IRIS Glam launched its forthcoming project which is a bid to the entry into Guinness record. The firm announced that it is trying to bring in a large number of models in a fashion show.

The current record in this trial is ramping 366 models at a time. However, IRIS has challenged to bring in more than 500 models in one shot. The event is planned to be held on 26 and 27 December at Express Avenue Mall in Chennai.

Addressing the mediapersons, Latha said, “Anyone irrespective of gender, aged between 16 and 40 can walk on the ramp for this try. All the contestants of this event will be given an e-certificate for participation. But, the model should be certified and if not, they will have to participate in a two-day boot camp conducted by IRIS. In this camp, they will be given rigorous training to set fire on the ramp, with their walk.”

The participant can be from anywhere in India under the condition of them taking care of their food and accommodation, she added.

Another important moment of the function was felicitating the crown winners from the organisation in the recently held fashion shows.

The five crown winners are Priyadharshini Rajkumar who won Dazzle Mrs India World Classic held in Delhi, Anu Kalyanaraghavan who won Dazzle Miss India World in Delhi, Sridevi Ramesh who came as the first runner-up in Dazzle Mrs India Universe held in Sri Lanka, Kavitha who emerged as Mrs Tamilnadu held in Delhi, Dr Deepa Mukundan from Trichy who emerged as second runner-up in Dazzle Mrs India World Queen held in Delhi and the list included some more.
