“I am happy to be part of a mega venture like Sarkar. Shooting for the movie was a great experience,” says actress Keerthy Suresh.
Directed by A R Murugadoss, the Vijay-starrer is slated for Deepavali release. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Radha Ravi, Pazha Karuppaiah and Yogi Babu among others form part of the cast. Music is by A R Rahman.
“2018 has been a phenomenal year with a good outing in Nadigayar Thilakam, Saamy 2 and Sandakozhi 2. I am eagerly waiting for Sarkar.”
Excerpts of her interview:
Q: How was it to be part of big-budgeted venture like Sarkar?
A: It is my second film with Vijay after Bairavaa. I play an interesting role in the movie. I can’t reveal much about it now. All I can say is that I thoroughly enjoyed sharing the screen with Vijay. To work with A R Murugadoss was a great learning experience.
Q: After the bio-pic Nadigayar Thilagam, you have opted for commercial films. Why?
A: After Nadigayar Thilagam, I have more responsibility. I have to choose my roles carefully. At the same time, I love commercial films. Sandakozhi 2 is a very good example of how a commercial heroine should be. If my character is good, I am ready to act in any genre. Everyone has been asking me what I’ll do next. Even I haven’t thought so much about it. I am keen to maintain a balance between good commercial cinema and content-driven films.
Q: Your interest for ‘kavithai’?
A: I have been writing poems for sometime in Tamil. I thought of translating some into Malayalam, but it didn’t work out. I write what comes to my mind. People around me are my inspiration.
Q: How was it to work in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam simultaneously?
A: When I started off in Malayalam, I didn’t think I would do Tamil films. When I was working in Tamil, I didn’t expect Telugu opportunities. But now, I am working in all three languages. I generally don’t expect anything because that way, you feel more happiness when something better happens. I think I have used my opportunities well.
