Ilavarasi leaves for Bengaluru prison

Chennai: With the 15-day parole period for Ilavarasi, who is serving a jail sentence along with expelled AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala, ending today, she left Chennai for Parappana Agrahara Jail, Bengaluru, where she has to report by 6 pm.

One thing that has to be noted is that she wasn’t able to meet AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran even once during her stay in Chennai.
It is said there is a difference of opinion between Ilavarasi and Dhinakaran. Ilavarasi was out on parole as her brother was not well. Her parole started 25 October and ended today.

All these days, she resided at the Nungambakkam residence of her son Vivek Jayaraman where she was not supposed to meet any party-related or media-related person.

According to sources, Ilavarasi was trying to convey some information regarding the peace talks between the ruling party and AMMK for which Dhinakaran was not ready. With this on the one side, Ilavarasi’s residence was filled with temple priests throughout the parole period who were seen performing various poojas and yagams.

Sasikala and Ilavarasi have both officially registered for Bangalore University’s distance education course. As Ilavarasi was to go on parole, the authorities of the Bangalore University Distance Education department advanced their admission schedule and visited Parappana Agrahara Central Prison to complete the procedures recently.
