Chennai: The investigation officer in the Advasi student rape and death case of Dharmapuri has been replaced.
The case was being investigated by Kottapatti inspector Muthukrishnan. As many allegations rose against the inspector, it is now said Harur all women police station inspector Lakshmi will take over the investigation.
The case relates to the rape of a Plus-Two student by two men when she went to answer nature’s call near her house 5 November. She died of complications 10 November.
The family of the victim has alleged that the hospital failed to provide the girl proper treatment and that the police did not register the case.
Political leaders in Tamilnadu, including DMK president M K Stalin and Tamil Maanila Congress chief G K Vasan, have raised their voice in support of the victim and her family and demanded strict action against the culprits.
