Chennai: Along with human deaths, what is devastating as a fallout of Cyclone Gaja is the death of deer, horses and boars.

A number of deer, horses and wild boars were found washed up at Karaikal coast after Gaja made landfall Thursday night.

Considering the number of animals that have been found dead, it is believed that they could have been swept away by the heavy rain in Nagapattinam. Kodiakarai forest in  Nagai is said to be home to a large number of animals and these probably washed ashore in the floods that affected the forest area also.
