Excerpts from the interview.
How did you get trained for the pageant?
They had a five-day workshop and we learnt how to walk on the ramp. There were people from Bollywood, and we were also taught how to talk and modulate our voice. There were 24 of us who had participated in the competition, We were from different States. Right from the first day, we were judged in whatever activity we did.
On the final day, we had four rounds of ramp walk with four different outfits. We then had a zumba competition and I won that as well. So after all, this I bagged the title.
How did it feel when you won?
Before this pageant, I always had the desire to be an actor. So when I participated in it, I was happy and felt this is what I wanted to do. It was amazing to win. I feel that I have become so much more self loving and confident. It has definitely changed me as a person for the better.
How are you managing your studies?
I have been doing well in studies. My teachers have been extremely supportive. They have encouraged me to participate and have been kind enough with the attendance. My friends too help me a lot.
What are you planning ahead?
Once I finish my studies, I am planning to join an acting school. I would like to properly study acting and take it further. Whenever I get an opportunity in commercial modelling, I will do that as well.
Next December, I am planning to participate in Femina Miss India, for which I am working. I would love to represent myself in a bigger platform.
