Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami will be boarding a flight this evening for Delhi to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and seek funds for cyclone relief in Tamilnadu.
The State government has already earmarked Rs 1,000 crore for cyclone relief and restoration in districts affected by Gaja.
The Chief Minister is likely to seek Rs 13,000 crore as funds from the Centre when he meets the Prime Minister tomorrow to set the delta districts on their feet.
GOVERNOR ON ROUNDS
Tamilnadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit is in Nagapattinam to survey the devastation wrought by Cyclone Gaja in the area.
According to latest reports, he is touring the areas by car.
Severe cyclonic storm Gaja broke the backbone of Nagapattinam when it struck with strong winds 15 November.
