‘Monster’ is based on real-life family incident, says director

After Maaya and Maanagaram, Potential Studios is coming out with their third production venture, titled Monster, starring S J Suryah and Priya Bhavani Shankar in lead roles.

Monster will be a complete family entertainer, says filmmaker Nelson Venkatesan, whose maiden directorial venture, Oru Naal Koothu, received critical acclaim. “Monster is a complete, children-centric film,” he adds.

Nelson says, “I narrated a few scripts to Potential Studios. However, an incident that happened in my house, inspired me to craft a script based on it. That is what Monster is. I can’t reveal anything more about the context as it will be a spoiler.”

Nelson says, “S J Suryah’s effortless performance won our hearts. He will be a perfect entertainer in Monster too. Priya Bhavani Shankar understood the depth of her character and was able to give more life to it. She has given her best in this movie. Karunakaran will tickle your funny bones.”

“It is a huge privilege for me as a director to work with Potential Studios, which lives up to its commitment of delivering good quality films,” adds Nelson.

Monster has music by Justin Prabhakaran, camera by Gokul Benoy, editing by V J Sabu Joseph and art by Shankar Shiva.
