Kalaipuli S Thanu, who bankrolled Rajinikanth starrer Kabali, has reportedly acquired the worldwide theatrical release rights of Petta for a big price. Produced by Sun Pictures and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the Rajini starrer also features Simran, Trisha, Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Nawzuddin Sidqui among others. Music is by Anirudh.
In a surprise announcement yesterday, the makers came up saying that the audio launch of Petta would take place on 9 December. Not only that, two single tracks will be released prior to the audio launch – one on the 3 December and another on 7 December.
Petta is Anirudh’s first music album with Rajinikanth and Karthik Subbaraj. According to sources, the composer has come up with an album that will bring back and celebrate the vintage Rajinikanth.
Plans are on for a worldwide release this Pongal festival. The film’s shooting was done in different locations across north India in places like Varanasi, Lucknow and Darjeeling.
Petta has stunts by Peter Hein, Kunal Rajan for sound designing, Niharika Khan, Praveen Raja as costume designers, and Baba Bhaskar and Sheriff for choreography.
Meanwhile 29 November, Rajini starrer 2.0, directed by Shankar, is releasing big.
