“It is my greatest desire to play the title role in a bio-pic on former chief minister Jayalalithaa. She was an iron lady and an inspiration to all,” says actress Namitha.
Last seen in Bigg Boss Tamil, she chose to marry her friend Veerendhra Reddy recently. The actress is now back on the big screen to play the role of a scribe in a movie titled Agambavam. “I want to act in films that have strong storylines. I thank all my fans for their boundless love.”
Excerpts from her interview:
Q: On your re-entry to cinema.
A: Things have changed a lot in Tamil cinema. Actresses are getting enough offers even after their marriage. They are welcomed by the audience. Also, my husband is encouraging me to continue acting. Though I got plenty of offers, I chose Agambavam for it had a strong story.
Q: Tell us about Agambavam.
A: It is a movie that comes with a strong message. I play a journalist in it. I have never played such a bold character before. I have lengthy dialogues which would win applause from the audience.
Q: What is your favourote among your films?
A: Though I had acted in several languages, my favourite is Pachakuthirai, directed by Parthiban sir. I enjoyed shooting for the movie and my performance was widely appreciated.
Q: Who is your favourite actor?
A: I am great fan of actor Vikram. I enjoy his movies a lot. I also admire the screen presence of Vijay Sethupathi. He is a bundle of talent.
Q: How was it to contest in Bigg Boss?
A: It was a great learning experience. I learnt a lot staying in the house. When I stepped out, I was completely changed.
