Chennai: Five persons have been arrested for hacking a man at ECR last night.
According to the police, Balaji (29), a resident of Kottivakkam, was walking alone at night near ECR when a gang came on two-wheelers and hacked him to death.
He died at a nearby hospital.
The police said Balaji has two criminal cases against him and he could have been murdered due to enmity.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Adyar, formed a separate team to investigate the murder.
The police arrested Ivan, Vasool, Karthik, Raja and Sanjay.
