Chennai: Tamilnadu seized control of the Cooch Behar Trophy U-19 match against Himachal Pradesh on the second day in Dindigul after reducing the visitor to 127 for five at stumps.
This was after the host was bowled out for 489 at the stroke of lunch. Overnight batsman, Pradosh Ranjan Paul, fell nine runs short of a double century after being bowled off the second ball of the day by Prashant Bakshi.
The visitor’s batting struggled in its reply as it lost wickets in a heap with only Vaibhav Sharma 64 batting (174b, 11×4, 1×6) offering any resistance.
