Anirudh reveals secret behind ‘Petta’ second single ‘Ullaallaa’

After Marana Mass, came another single, Ullaallaa, from Superstar Rajinikanth’s Petta. It was out on social media this evening. Set to tunes by Anirudh, the peppy number was set as a Baila song and it instantly became a craze on online media.

Said Anirudh in a sneak peek video, “I was inspired by a scene in Rajinikanth’s 1981 comedy Thillu Mullu in which his character Indiran lies to his boss to go watch a football match. A ‘Baila’ tune was played during this scene. I tried to recreate it in Ullaallaa.”

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Sun Pictures, the movie stars Simran, Trisha, Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The audio of the movie would be out 9 December.

Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0, released last week, is still making waves at the box office. The producers of the movie, Lyca International, announced that the movie has collected Rs 500 crore across the globe.

The movie, made in 3D format at a huge cost, was released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
